About the author
Michelle Doering (AKA Michelle D. Ring) is an author and freelance writer from Phoenix, Arizona. Her short fiction has appeared most notably in Tales of Tales, Darker Than Night, and Rainfall Books' Mysterious Suspense Stories #5. She has previously worked as an assistant editor for The Elephant Ladder, a literary zine dedicated to publishing authors from marginalized communities. When not cataloging deep or disturbing thoughts, she can be found watching hockey, admiring pretty girls, and haunting her local library.
Over the last seven years Michelle has happily provided a variety of writing, editing, and consulting services to clients all over the world. Her writing spans many genres and formats, but her specialties include: children's bedtime stories, middle grade & YA, romance, horror, and LGBT+ fiction.
An Exercise in Empathy, originally published in the fall 2019 issue of The Elephant Ladder and recently repreinted in Darker Than Night, an LGBT+ horror anthology published by Archer Books.
